Well, if the i880 carries the same software as the new i870 software, i'm not buying it, so your stuck doing it pumbaa :P

Hey pumbaa...the view was very helpful...i followed every step to the letter...however..when i changed the housing i ran into a problem...i couldn't get the knuckle back into the new housing i watched the video again..in reverse so to speak...and i finally got the knuckle in...but the flip will not open...

See, the i870 updated software was pissing me off with the inability to transfer voice records off phone, and the new media center arrangement. I dunno, just i got used to the old way and they screwed it up lol. That and the mp3 player was reading my ringtones as songs >.<

Wow Pumbaa thank you so much. You REALLY helped out. I don't know what I would have done. I'm still working on the phone I cant get the t4 screw out for the button that holds the ribbon yet I think it's stripped but other wise I got the bottom all done and am on my way.
Any help for putting the ribbon back on? Once I do get it off?

Down load the i870 tutorial and it will give you an idea how to rewrap the spool with the ribbon.

Wow, great work pumbaa! I wish I could have found this before I dove into my 860, lol. Even though I had no real problems my first time, I learned some little tricks from your video. Took me forever to figure out how to unwind the ribbon the first time, lol, seeing this would have helped. But again, great job, and thanx a bunch for the time and effort!

Yea wiggle it out the bitch out, and the 860 or i870 main LCD will not fit the 880,but they do interchange each other.

Like I said wiggle it off the black spool, and then heat up the front of the flip and then put a hobbie knife under the metal plate that holds the ribbon and pull up.
