I got this iphone for christmas and want to know what kind of shit i can do!!

Yeah yo, there's alot of nice things you can do. I don't have perfect experience with this, since I have a touch, but my dad has an iphone that I also hacked up, tho there's no cell service on it o.O lol.

First question is, of course, what kind of iphone is it? 3g? 3gs?

And do you plan to use it for at&t?

It's a 3g and I have it AT&T on it already

Well, if you're on at&t, then i assume you dont really need to unlock it for other carriers.

You can get lots of nice stuff on it. I have a growl-like system (for macs) on my touch, and it works pretty well. I also changed out my themes, fonts, icons, sounds, and stuff. There's this thing that allows you to run apps in the background, so it allows for multitasking (in a sense). The list goes on.

Nonetheless, the first step is to jailbreak it. That's how you get all the nice things on it, and free apps too (not my kinda thing, but the option is out there).

There's lots of good guides out there, so googling should be pretty easy. If you encounter problems, ask away.

Ok so here's an update! After further research on jailbreaking my phone I found out it can't be done with the software version I have. They are currently working on a way to break the phone I have but for now no go. LOL! I got all excited and BOOM no go.

Well when I was searching for it I didn't type in the version I had just Jailbreak iPhone. So I would just get a bunch of sites that were kinda old to begin with. So after my post i put the version and came up with quite a few sites that helped out. Just me being lazy!
